Imagine being in Rome, Italy. We write the year 1624. Opulence is normal, every day is filled with exaggerated motion, deep feelings, rich decorations. Gold, black and red like fruity red wine are the colors of the time, of everything. There is no in between. Everything looks glamourous, pompous and luxurious. Nothing is randomized. Look around!
Everything looks like still lifes. Golden lusters, candleholders, vases and even the walls are full of leaf gold. The baroque style is made to impress and to bring some drama in life. The eccentric redundancy and noisy abundance of details is typical. This is exactly what is reflected in the fall winter 2012/2013 collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent and a lot of other designers. Luxurious materials, embroideries, flowers and pearls. The clothes were opulent, rich and full of details. The hair accessories equally so, with jewels, pearls and floral hairbands atop neat up-dos. More is more. This is the device of this season’s baroque-inspired fashion. Put some glam hair accessoiries on, black and gold glamourous fashion pieces with embroideries and get into a baroque mood, which is ultra-feminine, breath-taking and unforgetable.
